One of the most influential rock bands of all time, The Smashing Pumpkins will headline the Colchester Castle Park Summer Series on Thursday 14 August, with support from Skunk Anansie, White Lies, and Rocket.

Formed in Chicago in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins – Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha have helped shape the sound of alternative rock for over three decades. With over 30 million albums sold worldwide, the band has earned two GRAMMY Awards, seven MTV VMAs, and an American Music Award.

Their seminal album ‘Mellon Collie’ and the ‘Infinite Sadness’ remains one of the best-selling double albums of all time, while singles like ‘Tonight, Tonight’ and ‘1979′ became anthems of a generation. Known for their epic headline sets and genre-defining legacy, this is a rare chance to see true alt-rock legends in a spectacular outdoor setting.
